Quick note (expanded)

Today was the first true day of the new gym schedule. 5 days fast walking on the treadmill or outside or wherever and two upper body, two lower body workout days. Today was the upper body circuit. The first exercise Chris has me doing is to lay on the bench and take a free weight. Extend the arms up straight from the chest and then roll the arms to where they are parallel with my body, the weight above my head (relative to me laying flat) - 3 sets of 12. Out of everything this is the most intensive of them. I feel it and I know that tomorrow I am going to be sore. Good thing tomorrow is the legs.

Now a delightful beautiful lady I know made a comment about hating to look at my calories burned on here. But I had to point out that I have two benefits (not really) ... I have age (well I am over the hill) and a tonne of body to move around (well not quite but a whole chunk that needs to go away). So right now I have to exert but just enough to start to hit those beneficial heart rates to get some good calories burned. As this burns off and it is and will I know I will have to work harder and faster to get those numbers to stay high. Go from a 2.5 mph pace to a 4 mph pace and do a full hour. But that is something I get to work on and one day I can be just like this delightful lady running full tilt in the heat of Texas summer and coastal humidity going....'what the hey - 300 calories - is that all' :)

I am catching ya girl. :)
